Biography
Seyeon Chang 장세연
Seyeon Chang is an active jazz pianist, composer, and educator. She has performed extensively around the New York and New Jersey area and is now involved in a variety of musical activities in South Korea.
After graduated Busan Foreign Language High School, Seyeon earned a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree in classical composition and a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in jazz performance at Mokwon University. In 2018, Seyeon got a Master of Music (M.M.) in jazz performance at William Paterson University.
Not only as a performer but also as a researcher, Seyeon has cross-disciplinary research on the relationship between improvisation and life experience; she has done a qualitative investigation into jazz improvisers’ cognition in familiar and unfamiliar group settings.
Seyeon is currently teaching as an adjunct professor in the Music Department at Dong-Eui University and Silla University in South Korea. Seyeon is always eager to meet with great artists and beautiful companions all around the world.
